Anyone who wants to get the most out of their equipment should learn how to change skid steer attachments. This blog is aimed at more inexperienced skid steer operators, but it could also serve as a nice refresher for those who have used these machines before. If you’re anything like us, you’re always trying to improve your safety and efficiency, and we hope this blog will assist you in purchasing the quick attach plate. Because the right one can make a lot of difference in completing the task.
You can easily convert the old attachment into the universal skid steer and hook it up using the Quick Attach Plates attachments. Install the fast attach plate by welding it to the implement you want to modify.
Skid Steer Quick Attach Plate – Changing Procedure
While it may appear overly simplistic, it is critical that we begin at the beginning and be as comprehensive as possible. Changing skid steer attachments begins long before entering the machine and continues well after exiting. Here’s how to change attachments in a step-by-step manner.
1. Safety of the Surroundings comes first
Firstly, be in the safe and flat area which has plenty of room for maneuver before you begin the changing procedure of the skid steer attachments.
2. Make sure you make an Equipment Check
Check that the machine, quick attach plate attachment, and fast attach plates are free of pebbles, mud, sticks, ice, or snow.
3. Begin with Attaching it to the Skid Loader
Attach the skid loader to the attachment and lock the levers or pins in place. Raise the machine and visually inspect the pins to ensure that they are inserted into both holes on each side of the fast attach plate.
4. Next is to Connect Hoses
Hoses from the attachment to the skid loader should be connected. It doesn’t matter which order you connect them in. By pressing them together, you can connect them (Male and Female couplers). You should hear a click when they’re joined, and once they’re attached, give them a gentle tug to ensure they’re safe and locked together.
5. By turning the Hydraulics for operating
To use the attachment, turn on the auxiliary hydraulics inside the skid steer. First and foremost, keep the auxiliary hydraulics running at a low idle and low rpm. This will ensure that all connections are secure and that there are no hydraulic leaks on either the skid loader or the attachment. You can start turning up the idle on the skid loader and running hydraulics at a quicker pace after you see no leaks and everything is working well.
6. Prepare for making the Disconnect
When you’re ready to disconnect, check to see if the skid loader has an auxiliary pressure relief valve; if it does, press it and turn the machine off. Pushing the hoses that are linked to the skid loader back into the skid loader is another approach to alleviate pressure from the hoses. The machine’s couplers will retract about 14-3/8 of an inch backward. To remove the male coupler, pull back on the female coupler.
7. Process of Disconnecting
Back away cautiously after unlocking levers or lifting pins upwards out of holes in a quick attach plate.
This is the easy procedure regards to changing the skid steer quick attach plate attachment.
