Tulum is the ideal destination to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big cities and enjoy a beachfront vacation, simply a paradise in the Mexican Caribbean. In this little guide, I will give you all the information you need to get to this incredible destination without having to worry about your mobility.
To begin with, it is important to mention that Uber service is not allowed inside Cancun Airport, and going out to the main streets to take the service would be very risky, that’s why we have not listed it in this article. Knowing this let’s start.
How to get to Tulum?
Tulum is located at a distance of 133 km (83 mi) from Cancun Airport. We will depart from Cancun Airport, where you will find all the transportation options to Tulum.
Private Taxi: The Shuttle from Cancun to Tulum option is the most popular, safe, and profitable that exists, it gives you the opportunity to travel with the comfort you need plus the possibility of traveling with up to 5 people, ideal for family trips or with friends, its cost is usually a little higher but it is totally worth it as long as you travel safely and in less time than any other transportation option available,
Bus: This option is the most convenient if you are traveling alone, inside the airport you can find the public service of the ADO bus line, the price of the ticket is usually a little more economical around $15 USD, however, the transfer times are a little longer and you will have to share the trip with more than 20 passengers.
Car Rental: This option is ideal if you want to visit several points of the Mexican Caribbean since you will be able to move around in an easier way. If you are traveling in a group you can also split the cost of the car.
Undoubtedly these are the 3 main options to move around the Mexican Caribbean. If you are traveling in a group I highly recommend you to ask for a private transportation service because it will not only give you the peace of mind of traveling safely but you will also be able to move to other destinations, and the attention is very good.
A very important point to consider is the time you will spend on your transfers so I give you an example the Transportation from Cancun to Playa del Carmen will normally take you 50 min in a private cab to your hotel, and by bus, it usually takes about 1 hour 20 min to the station and then you would have to move to your hotel in some other means such as uber.
